As a copywriter you will be involved in advertising campaigns, collateral production along with many other facets involved.

There are many common mistakes you can make freelance copywriting, try to avoid them at all costs. Avoid using clichés, they are outdated and overused. Use clean, understandable English, and keep your sentences crisp and concise and describe the product in terms that anyone would understand.

When writing your ad as a freelancer, make sure your target audience wants to "act now!" or close the deal. Include incentives for buyers, such as an extended warranty,  try to include this in your headline or opening sentence. Highlighting specific key words, will grab a readers attention, directing them more towards a conversion. Finally, when you've finished you copy, go through and  delete unnecessary words. If the sentence doesn't convince you, then it won't work on a reader either.

And remember, read other ads and copy, it may help your writing aswell.
