Scriptwriting and Speech Writing
Jobs
Making your first screenplay requires
the same ingenuity, effort, talent and persistence that
anyone else has put into writing
a screenplay. Starting out, put your story
on paper in some form -- as an outline, a short story or a rough
draft screenplay.
Work At Home Projects understands that
scriptwriting may seem a bit daunting and scary to some. However we
are here to help newbies and professionals alike.
By putting your story in written form, you establish your
copyright to it. Registering your work
with the Writers Guild
establishes the date of creation which
can become important if a dispute develops over when the
story was written.
Keep track of all phone correspondence
regarding your stories. Some writer tape their story meetings. This
is a good idea if you plan to go into lots of detail about a
particular story or if you are discussing a script rewrite.
Sometimes producers meet with several writers and choose the
one with the best ideas. You don't want someone else
hired and that person
be given your rewriting ideas.
Do finish the script, polish it till it shines and send it on to
this star's agent, with a copy of the note you received from her
assistant. Include a few sentences about yourself and why you
believe this script will showcase the star brilliantly.
